Watercolor and gouache on a small piece of paper, quick painting. This painting of Tatiana was made by a photograph I took while working on a folklore festival. She is the leader of a russina children’s dancing group, a very inspiring woman. It is something very unusual to see here in Israel, very different culturally. She is always with her make up, and always with a smile. Very sensitive and very strong. I worked with Tatiana and her group 2 years in a row, and it was a pleasure. Here are some pictures from one of the festivals: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dinakof/sets/72157607813845622/ there you can also find Tatiana in the picture which inspired this painting. And here is the group’s site, where you can see some of the dances: http://www.rdetstva.ru/.

My grandma, lucya (Liudmila). Watercolor and gouache on a small piece of paper, quick painting. This painting is made by a photograph I took few days before my wedding in 2008. She was born in Saint Petersburg and now she lives in Berlin. I like her strong yet sensitive character. Art is something that flows in my family tree, but she is one of those who don’t paint. Still, I think I learned from her about the art of life, which is the most important kind of art.

Gouache on paper. This piece is from an early course in my studies at Bezalel. The palette of colors is taken from a non related image (some commercial postcard). First thing was to decide which colors would I use, then choose a landscape and paint it with my new colors. I chose the backyard of my mother in law. This color work was a great pleasure for me, and I hope to make more paintings by the same method as soon as I finish my final project, and then of course I’ll add the best to “Dina’s art world”, to share it with you.

Gouache on paper. A colorful impression experience for a small “travel book” from one of my courses at the Bezalel academy. It is a bit different from the things I usually create, lighter and with more freedom yet precise. The inspiration for the colorful dots is from a rug which was in the room where we stayed.

Gouache on paper, delicate yet rough art. Editorial illustration for an article about Male fertility and nutrition. I like the bright color of the tomato.
