This is a small collection of wedding and couple inspired paintings I painted as a collaborative paintings. Some at weddings, some with my daughter, or in special celebrations. All of them are available as prints too. I love the folk theme, the colorful palette, the simple subject and the happy image that brings the message to the homes that have it on their walls. I hope it inspires you for a happy harmony in your home and family, to remind what’s important and how strong you can be together, especially when life seems hard and things look and feel so full of effort. Take a simple reminder as these images, for anther option, and choose the simple love that is always there.

These days it’s almost spring in Israel, I see blossoming flowers and trees all around me. I’m taking my painting students to paint and draw outside and I enjoy every moment. Thanks to my 1.7 year old daughter I spend a lot of time in nature as she insists to get out of the house as much as she can. Blossoming trees are one of my favorite memories from my childhood in St.Petersburg, Russia, after the snow melt down and the sun came out. Here, in Israel, the period between winter and summer is very short, and soon it will be too hot to be outside. I enjoy this time while the air is still fresh, and the vision is clear for photography:)
I’m working on my next paintings, that will be related to the sea, a bit different from the woodland theme that takes my focus for some time. I’m exited to go to the new places of inspiration, still having nature and women as my muses. Stay updated to see what’s coming next! Of course I would love to hear what you think, and will be very happy if you would like to send me inspiration of any kind, related to the sea and to women in art.
Pink and ochre are my bestest friends these days:)
As I’m working on my new painting, I’m thinking about these nature scenes and placing them deep in my mind, to follow me as I live my daily life. The couple resting under the big tree, watching the time go by, remind me of san Pedro and it’s wisdom. Follow up to see the completed painting (even though I kind of like it the way it is now).
Dear Annie wrote in her blog:
“Wedding portrait painting has become a lost art in this culture of digital photography, but many young couples and their families desire a wedding portrait that will be passed down to children and grandchildren in the form of a vivid, painted masterpiece. Today I want to introduce you to an artist with a rich appreciation for symbolism as well as an incredible talent for realistic representation in her custom wedding and portrait paintings and sketches. Dina Argov comes from a family of artistic talent and tells stories about her time spent as a little girl in Russia, sketching under the table while her mother painted folk art for tourists. Now Dina is married and has her own little girl. She lives in Israel, and spends her days painting heirloom masterpieces that represent the purity and joy of a godly marriage. If you’d like to contact Dina for a custom request or take a look at more of her artwork, go to the Dacha Studo on Etsy. Also, don’t forget to tour the Weddings Section of her studio!”

Well, sometimes I take a break from reality and it’s images. Actually I like it a lot. After painting a lot of realistic portraits and landscapes, this black & white series came to my imagination. I have already painted (or should I say draw?) 5 in this series, and the one above is made specially for Valentine’s day for my Etsy shop. I paint them with archival ink markers on A4 size old paper I found in my drawer. I have time to paint it after my baby goes to sleep, and I really enjoy it. I don’t plan, I just keep the same pattern (shape wise), and all the rest can change. I see that animals take big place in these images, but I also have one with aliens… A4 prints are available, and also 4/6 inch small prints (can serve as greeting cards:). I am always looking for inspiration, so if you like you can drop me a line and show me something interesting.
